An account in Lot, France

On September 27, 1954, at around 8:40 a.m., three children (aged 10, 8.5, and 5) were walking to school on RN 13, east of Ceint-d'Eau (Figeac (26)), when they encountered a small-sized character who fired a gunshot, which frightened the children. The two older ones had previously noticed a sort of crate in the field bordering the road. The two children stated that the crate flew away quickly: the eldest said at noon, the younger one said around 8:40 a.m. The gendarmerie was notified by the schoolteacher. The children were interviewed by the gendarmes the next morning. No ground traces were found by the gendarmerie. No other testimony was collected. GEIPAN classifies this case as C due to lack of information, contradictory information, and lack of cross-checking.
