An account in Pyrnes-Orientales, France

On September 26, 1983, several people observed, between 5:30 and 6:30, a very bright object in the sky resembling, to the naked eye, a star. This object moved slowly, and observation with binoculars allowed the witnesses to see, according to them, a yellow crown surrounding a crater of light gray color. An examination of the sky chart at the time of the observation shows the presence of Venus at the location indicated by the witness, with a movement strictly consistent with their estimate between 5:30 and 6:30.
