A witness reported in 2010 an old observation made with an Admiral 1000 terrestrial telescope (zoom 15X-60X) borrowed from a friend. Two other people present at the time observed the phenomenon. On Wednesday, October 8, 1969 at 7:10 a.m., three people had their attention drawn to a bright point in the sky. The witness then observed, through the telescope, an object moving slowly from North to South in a back-and-forth motion. He describes a disk accompanied by two satellites orbiting around the main element. The observation lasts about twenty minutes. The witness stops observing for a few moments but sees nothing when he returns. No other testimony concerning a phenomenon seen in October 1969 in the region or neighboring regions will be collected at GEIPAN. The observation of a bright point in the morning sky is in itself a common phenomenon: in this case it could be Sirius or a weather balloon. The disappearance of the object is also common: the increasing brightness of the sky at sunrise made the object invisible. The observation through the telescope as described enthusiastically by the witness is stranger (satellites orbiting around the object); however, zoom telescopes are known to be very sensitive to optical aberrations (flare that causes ghost images); the witness states that this telescope was of good quality without marked defects since he had previously been able to see Jupiter's satellites. The age and uniqueness of the testimony, the inability to verify the quality of this telescope do not allow a clear conclusion on this testimony: classification "C".
