Sleep event

This dream was of me sleeping on the roof of a sky scraper in New York City. I bought a penthouse apartment of a 20 story apartment building so the roof would be mine and I could sleep under the stars. In the dream I woke up and looked into the sky and felt the joy of being able to sleep with the stars above me. I felt so close to them, then I looked around me and felt in awe of the buildings all around me. I saw the buildings that towered above me and some roof tops below me ; I was on one of the highest buildings. The tallest was just a short distance to my right, it was brick all the way up to the top, with black girders to hold the brick in place, and it was beautiful. Then I notice that below me the street seemed so far away. I was up so high and in my sleep I had rolled to the edge of the building and I was suddenly afraid to move. All my big fluffy pillows around me made me so comfortable but I was up against a chimney which only marginally kept me from falling off. I suddenly felt fear and wanted to move away from the edge of the roof. I started to shift and to get up, but as I did, my pillows fell off the side of the building to the street below. I was suddenly very scared to move . I was afraid that I could fall just like my pillows to the street below and die. I was paralyzed with fear. I awoke myself up too scared to keep dreaming, but I wanted to go back to sleep to get off the roof, so I quickly drifted off again back on the roof, this time I rolled away to safety and the dream ended; but I did not wake for a while. In the morning, the dream came back to me so strong and vivid. I remember the fear of falling to my death off the roof and how stressful it was, but it seemed worse to not go back to the dream. I felt the need to move to safety or I would remain stressed and never be safe again. So I decided to go back to the dream and I focused on the dream scene which helped me to return to the dream. All day I kept thinking of this dream and the fear that woke me, seeing myself on the edge of the roof so close to falling off.A very vivid dream. It began so beautiful and relaxing but it suddenly turned into a very scary, life threatening situation. Life is stressful for me now so it is not surprising that I had this dream. Usually my dreams are so beautiful and peaceful, but lately I am bothered by stress and uncertainty.
