Red lights

I had attempted to WILD, but rather fell asleep. The earliest I remember with any clarity was of walking down a road, and seeing a man on a horse (among others with carts and horses) outside of town. As the man passed behind someone else his horse disappeared, as I expected it would. The man -a gaunt, ill-shaved fellow in his thirties with long, stringy, black hair who wore a long coat, carried a stack of manuscripts, and kept a key on his person- walked along what became a dark hallway lined with damask wallpaper. He stopped at a black painted wooden door, and brought out the aforementioned key. At this moment he saw me watching him, and attempted to walk away. I stopped him and expressed that I wanted to see the contents of that room. He looked at me -worried yet sly- and asked me "Do you really want to see what is in that room?" I remained standing there with him understanding that I desired entry. At this point he approached a door and opened it for me. I began to walk in, but saw that it was not the same room, and that he was merely trying to trap me. I resisted, and made my way again into the hall. He seemed satisfied that he was winning, and I woke up. I was a little angered at having been befuddled by this shady character, and immediately went back to sleep (a task requiring the whole of twelve seconds). This time I was fully lucid, and keenly aware of my surroundings. I awoke (or rather asleeped?) into a dark room. I felt myself becoming frightened (a thing that only happens when my body temperature rises too high). I was having a nightmare. I attempted to get into a more lighted area by approaching a small row of dim lights, and closing my eyes right in front of them (causing a red glow through my eyelids). This did not work; when I opened my eyes, the room was still as black. Very nearly after this, I managed to "wake up", but upon doing a hand check, I saw six fingers on my right hand (I did not count but rather saw two groups of three). I saw my father who told me that I had been dreaming. Knowing this, I asked him to make sure that the blankets be removed from my waking body, that I may cool. He said it was done. I then saw my mother, and showed her my hands. I then counted my fingers. At first I again saw six fingers. But upon counting them, I counted seventeen fingers on my right hand alone. My fingers became a sort of green, black, and purple seaweed, still functional but very strange. At this point I awoke, but experienced a haze and sleep paralysis. I attempted to fight it off, but to no avail. So I submitted to returning to the dream, but then breathed more heavily and truly awoke (at least I passed the hand check and wrote this article).
