An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Maine-et-Loire, France

On March 25, 1980, starting at 9:50 PM, several military personnel observed a particular luminous phenomenon for one hour. A ball larger than a star and yellowish in color emitted significant light rays. It was observed in a westerly direction, with a position slightly above the horizon, without precise angular measurement. Examination of the star chart shows that at that time Venus was in a westerly direction at about 11 degrees above the horizon and had a significant magnitude of -4.22. Sirius was also very visible with a magnitude of -1.45, but the witnesses were probably misled by the observation of Venus.
