On November 19, 2017 at 8:35 PM, two people, traveling in a car (T1 driver) and (T2 front passenger), are intrigued by colored luminous shapes seen through the windshield. The witnesses are on departmental road 39 at the exit of Fouchy (67) heading toward Urbeis (67). The witnesses disagree on the description of the phenomenon. However, they agree that the phenomenon was silent and stationary. They take photographs with their respective smartphones. The two witnesses describe the UAP very differently, in particular T2 expresses his difference in perception compared to T1 (See investigation notes). Looking at the photos provided by the witnesses, we also notice that the UAP observed by passenger T2 is sharp and the one seen by driver T1 is blurry: this opens the hypothesis of two separate observations of two UAPs. Two different observation cases are opened (see investigation notes). An examination of the dashboard of the witnesses' car (Dacia Sandero) allows us to identify the origin of the UAP seen by driver T1. By superimposing by transparency the witnesses' photo and that of the dashboard, we can see that it is a reflection in the windshield of the "Media Nav" screen, with the presence of a wire or cable in front of it explaining the vision of two triangles. The red dot is the hazard warning button, and the orange dot is the door lock button. This also explains the silence and immobility of the phenomenon. Consequently, GEIPAN concludes that T1's observation corresponds to a reflection of the dashboard on a glass element. GEIPAN classifies the case as A: reflection. See the case [CD39] of FOUCHY (67) toward URBEIS (67) 19.11.2017 T2 to know what phenomenon was seen by T2 (passenger) and what classification was given to the case.
