Recent testimony (14/10/2015) of an old observation. On Sunday 7 April 2013 at 5:10 in the morning, a witness observes through his window several orange balls silently moving away from his building toward the sea. The lights seem incandescent, the size of a basketball. They do not blink. He takes a video and then sees five new lights following the same trajectory. Eight orange balls will thus be observed. No other testimony will be collected. The observation of pinkish-orange balls crossing the sky in a few minutes, on a weekend night, clearly suggests Thai lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party. The movement is observed from East to West, which is consistent with the easterly wind of 7 to 11 km/h recorded in Le Havre (see the Météociel record from the day of the observation). The witness's video makes it possible to confirm this hypothesis without any doubt (see especially around the 3rd minute). GEIPAN classifies this case "A" observation of Thai lanterns.
