An account in Allier, France

On Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 9:26 PM, a witness on their terrace was looking at the stars and a plane and was surprised to see in the northwest a luminous phenomenon that increased then decreased in intensity until it disappeared. Only one testimony was collected. The characteristics of the UAP were noted by the witness: - Fixed luminous point - Observation duration of 10 seconds - Brightness similar to that of a star This data is typical of an Iridium flare or flash. Furthermore, the data concerning the time and direction of the observation (exact time noted as 9:26 PM and observation direction toward the northwest) match those concerning the Iridium flare of object Iridium 54 with a maximum magnitude of -6.6 (see the investigation note). Consequently, GEIPAN classifies the case as A: observation of an Iridium flare.
