An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Haute-Vienne, France

On Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 9:05 PM, a witness observes, for 5 to 7 minutes, five orange balls seemingly coming toward him silently, with a lighter halo seeming to surround the balls. These disappear one after another behind the others. The observation of orange balls in the sky within a few minutes clearly suggests sky lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party. The slight movement is observed coming from the northeast, with an apparent approach, which is consistent with the northeast wind of 15 to 20 km/h recorded in Limoges (see the Meteociel data for the day of the observation). It should however be noted that lantern releases usually take place on weekends; also note that this day falls during the school holidays and is a time conducive to carnival celebrations. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns.
