An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Yvelines, France

On Friday, December 5, 2014, between 7:45 PM and 7:50 PM, a walker is intrigued by the silent movement in the night sky of 5 very bright red-orange lights. No other testimony is collected. The observation of orange balls crossing the sky in a few minutes, on the eve of a holiday (St. Nicholas), clearly suggests Thai lanterns, probably released nearby at the end of a private party. The movement is observed from west to east, which is consistent with the light southwest to west wind recorded at Pontoise (see the Météociel record). GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns.
