An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Gironde, France

On February 6, 2014 at 9:15 PM, a witness closing their shutters noticed several luminous objects moving silently in the sky. The observation of bright objects following one after another in the sky, in the direction of the wind, suggests Thai lanterns. The witness observed the objects flying from north to south. The Météociel report for Bordeaux gives a northwest wind of 22 to 33 km/h, partly cloudy (5/8) weather. Given the wind direction, these lanterns could have been launched from the Quai des Chartrons. The Tết festival was celebrated in Bordeaux on February 8. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of Thai lanterns.
