An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Essonne, France

On June 9, 2013 at 8:09 PM, several people observe the simultaneous and silent movement of two objects in the cloudy sky. Polygonal in shape, these two objects, always at equal distance from each other, rise in the sky and gradually disappear into the clouds. The witness's house has its street-facing facade oriented E-SE; the living room window, facing the garden, is oriented W-NW. The flying object was observed moving from right to left from this window, in the direction of the Senart forest, which is to the left, to the southwest. The object was therefore flying in a direction N or NE, toward S or SW. The witness indicates a direction from East to West: if that were the case, the object would have flown over his house. The wind recorded at Orly was blowing from the North at 8 PM and from the NE at 9 PM. This wind seems compatible with the observed movement of the objects, which can be assumed to be helium-filled and carried by the wind. The shapes mentioned are compatible with the various models of balloons sold at fairs and carnivals, which are common on Sundays in June. The low strangeness of the case does not justify an in-depth investigation to find who released these probable festive balloons. GEIPAN classifies this case "B": probable observation of festive balloons.
