An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Isre, France

On June 22, 2013 after 10:30 PM, two people are astonished by the silent, straight-line passage of a luminous phenomenon in the sky. The description of this not-very-strange phenomenon (a very bright point slowly crossing the sky) clearly evokes the International Space Station (ISS). The Calsky website indicates an ISS pass from 10:45 PM to 10:52 PM, from West to South (see attached Calsky record, and simulation from the witness's point of view). However, there is an imperfect match between the time given by the witness—"10:30 PM, maybe later"—and the simulated time; likewise, the maximum elevation given by the witness (90°) is not the one given by the simulation (17.5°): an inaccuracy in the simulation parameters can be considered. GEIPAN classifies this case as "B": probable observation of the ISS pass with some uncertainty.
