An account in Puy-de-Dme, France

On September 17, 2012, from 6:50 a.m. to 7:20 a.m., a witness is intrigued by the presence of two luminous phenomena in the sky. The witness takes two photographs: one facing East and the second facing South. The witness undoubtedly observed to the South the planet Jupiter, of magnitude -2.5 (that is, much brighter than the stars of the Big Dipper, of magnitude 1.7) and he saw to the East the planet Venus of magnitude -4.7 (that is, even brighter) which became invisible at sunrise. (See the corresponding sky maps.) GEIPAN classifies this case "A": observation of Venus and Jupiter.
