An account in Bouches-du-Rhne, France

A witness, an amateur astronomer living near the Istres air base and experienced in observing many different types of aircraft, observed on August 7, 2012 at 10:25 PM the passage of a bright light maintaining a constant heading and an estimated altitude between 1000 and 2000 meters. The phenomenon, coming from the southwest, passed to the northeast in about 5 minutes and then disappeared. The witness's description and the time of passage are entirely consistent with the observation of a pass of the International Space Station (ISS): see the Calsky report. GEIPAN classifies this case "A": observation of the International Space Station ISS.
