An account in Puy-de-Dme, France

On July 4, 2012 at 7:20 a.m., a motorist driving on the A75 near the town of Authezat (63) is intrigued by the presence in the sky of an object of dark color and round to oval shape. It is motionless in the direction of the Sancy. Six minutes later, driving on the D2013 between Saint-Amand-Tallende and Aydat near Saint-Saturnin, the motorist sees the object again and notices 5 other shapes moving at reduced speed and at low altitude. The witness thinks of fighter jets. Heading toward Chadrat, the motorist loses sight of the various elements. The observation lasted 8 minutes. No other testimony will be collected. This testimony is of average consistency because it is not very precise, coming from a single witness and without photos. The observation is not very strange because it could be a completely ordinary object. The hypotheses retained (see attached report) are those of a balloon, a tethered balloon, or a free-flying craft (ultralight, paraglider, etc.). However, given the elements collected in the investigation, namely: - the analysis of three hypotheses fitting the observation poorly - the absence of information (angular measurements) not allowing better verification of the estimates of the size, distance, and altitude of the UAP this case is classified as C due to lack of information.
