An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Seine-Maritime, France

On December 30, 2010 at 6:30 PM, a witness observed, in a mostly clear sky, the movements of several white ovoid rings and bright points. The observation lasted 45 minutes. The description of the UAP, consisting of a multitude of white luminous spots animated by periodic movements, makes us think of the observation of a light display from a multi-beam projector of the Skyrose type. These projectors are frequently a source of confusion, due to the original ballet they project onto the clouds, and whose beams are not necessarily visible when the atmosphere has good transparency, such as after rain. But in this case, the witness reports a black sky, with few stars but also "sparsely loaded with clouds" (see QT p.5/8). If the transparency of the sky should have been good given the wind recorded throughout the day, the detailed weather data in point 3.1 report fog and drizzle in Le Havre, Dieppe, and Rouen, and the satellite images, incomplete, do not allow determining the cloud cover at the time of observation. On this basis (fog), the state of the atmosphere does not seem compatible with the observation of spots projected onto the cloud cover, because the fog should have revealed the beams and therefore the direction of the projector. On the other hand, there no longer seems to be a nightclub in Senneville, but the announcement of an exceptional New Year's Eve party could have motivated a party organizer. Of low strangeness and medium consistency, this observation case cannot be firmly concluded although the hypothesis of a Skyrose-type projector, entirely compatible with the observation report, seems plausible on the eve of New Year's Eve. This case is classified C for lack of independent testimonies and cross-checks.
