An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Ille-et-Vilaine, France

A witness observes in the sky on June 3, 2010 around 12:45 a.m. a ball of light that intrigues him. This fixed object loses its brightness and the witness loses sight of it. No noise is noticed during the observation of 15 to 20 seconds. Following the publication of cases classified "C", an internet user reported to GEIPAN the possibility of an Iridium flare. GEIPAN verified this hypothesis. The witness's description corresponds well to the observation of an Iridium satellite flare, a rare and spectacular phenomenon that occurred at that time, visible from that location, and could not have escaped the observer who was looking in that direction. However, there remains a lack of information provided by the witness on the elevation (site) of the phenomenon in the sky. The observation of this UAP is classified "A", as an Iridium flare.
