An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Vienne, France

On October 3, 2009 at around 9:30 PM, a family (witnesses 1 and 2) observes in the sky the passage, in groups, of flying and bright objects in the sky. These round objects move horizontally and quickly. No noise is heard during the observation, which lasts between 6 and 7 minutes. The glow of these objects fades before disappearing completely. The gendarmerie investigation will determine that these were Chinese lanterns launched during a birthday party. The person responsible for the release (witness 3) provided a few photographs taken on that occasion. The description of the observation by witnesses 1 and 2 at around 9:30 PM corresponds to the probable observation of Thai lanterns. The launch of flying lanterns declared to the gendarmerie (launch at around 11:00 PM) by witness 3 does not match the observation time. However, the data contained in the photos sent by witness 3 confirms this launch time of around 11:00 PM.
