An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Haute-Savoie, France

On August 14, 2009 at around 10:55 p.m., a witness is intrigued by the very fast passage from southeast to northwest in the sky of a round, red-orange object. No trail was noticed during the 2 to 3 seconds of observation. At 11:10 p.m., the witness makes a second observation, lasting one second, of the passage from southeast to northwest of another object. This case evokes the observation of a bolide (meteorite fall), but the absence of a trail is surprising, and GEIPAN has not found confirmation of other observations. Of average strangeness due to a linear movement, this observation case suffers from too much imprecision and therefore too little consistency as it stands. A field investigation would bring back little information more than 4 years after the facts. This case is classified as C for lack of independent testimonies and cross-checks.
