An open record of things people cannot explain

An account in Lot-et-Garonne, France

On May 17, 2009, around 1 a.m., two people observed in the sky the presence of about ten orange luminous points. They seemed to come from the same place and all silently headed toward Grange-sur-Lot. They disappeared at the horizon. The witness provided several photographs of reconstruction and positioning. The video recording unfortunately was not transmitted to GEIPAN. No other testimony was collected. Of relatively low strangeness but very good consistency thanks to the detailed testimony, this observation case has all the characteristics of a misidentification involving the release of Thai lanterns. The absence of precise weather data at the observation site and the regional records prevents a firm conclusion. This case is classified as C: lack of precise weather information and cross-checks to validate the Thai lantern hypothesis.
