An account in Gers, France

An amateur astronomer reports his observation of August 18, 2007: around 10:15 PM, while observing the stars, he notices with the naked eye a luminous point moving from East to West at constant speed. After 30 seconds of observation, he decides to make a video with his camcorder. He first films at maximum zoom (x20) then zooms out to better follow the luminous point. The witness is intrigued by this same phenomenon that he will see two other times in the month of August 2007. The witness observes a luminous point that starts moving, he takes his camera and films. The movements of the phenomenon on the witness's video (very little usable) correspond to the movement of the camera, the diamond shape is the shape of the camera's diaphragm. It could be an airplane heading to Blagnac, seen from the front, landing lights on, but the witness did not answer the additional questions asked for the investigation. After being classified "C" for lack of information, this case was re-examined. On August 18 at 10:15 PM, there was a pass of the International Space Station (ISS) visible from Gimont. GEIPAN now classifies the case as "A": observation of the International Space Station ISS.
