10/31/2005 Lucid Dream #15 - "First time I have seen the Sun." As usually I was at the end of a dream when I became lucid. I remember that in my dream my ex-wife had called me from her work because my father was asleep in his van in the parking lot. From there I ended up outside with two stereotypical 1930's gangster types, pinstripe suits and all. I noticed a strange <PERSON> with very small green leaves, bright orange berries (which looked like orange tic-tacs), and 1inch spiky thorns, and I feel a twinge of fear. Suddenly, I remember seeing this type of <PERSON> before in a dream (dream memory?), and I realize that I am dreaming. I am now lucid without doing an RC. I examine the <PERSON> closely and wonder if I dream about thorn bushes because I fell through a torn <PERSON> as a child and was badly injured. I walk away from the <PERSON> and examine my surroundings. I breathe in the fresh air which smells of autumn. I look at the maple trees around me; their leaves are beautiful and vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow. I realize that I am in the front yard of a house where I lived as a teen. I walk around to the side yard and see another of those strange bushes. I stop. I decide to try to intentionally alter reality. I wave my hand by the <PERSON> and try to make the berries disappear. With the first wave of my hand aprox 80% of the berries fade away, the remaining turn a pale yellow color. I decide to change tactics. I raise my hands up and will it to begin snowing. The sky grows gray and it begins to flurry. I smile. I look upward and can feel the cold flakes of snow landing on the skin of my face. I notice the sun out of the corner of my eye, but it is coved by clouds. I realize that I have never seen the sun in a lucid dream. I will the clouds to part, and they do. The sun is visible and I glance at it. It is as bright as it is in real life. I avert my eyes and do a RC, just in case I am not dreaming. (I was afraid I would go blind.) I notice that there is no after-image in my vision; there way there would be in RL after looking at such a bright light source. As I look at my fingers I cannot focus on them without them disappearing. I am confident that I am dreaming. I look back up at the sun. It is no longer as bright as it was. As I continue to stare a face appears on this bright yellow ball. It looks a bit like a smiley from a computer, but its mouth keeps changing from a flat line, to a kissey-face, to a tilted line. I just smile and look away. I decide to leave my old yard and go exploring. I walk to a gate and realize that the yard has changed to the front yard of the house where I spent my childhood (birth to 9yrs old). I walk through the gate into the street. I turn right and see <PERSON> and Snoopy standing about 50ft away. (I was watching "It is the Great Pumpkin <PERSON>" last night.) They look 2 dimensional, like cardboard cutouts that move. <PERSON> sees me and runs toward me yelling, "Daddy!" I just had to laugh. He wraps his 2 dimensional arms around my legs and hugs me. The dream fades away and I wake up.
