Knocking
2009-2010 1. I am outside on the streets. at the edge of the fog stands a humanoid figure. I run up the stairs due to fear, and pound on the door. It is locked. I turn around, and the figure is directly behind me. 2. I have a dream of someone knocking on the door. I know it is a dream, and I remember how the Incubus would do the same thing. The door busts open. I remember the rules; if I was not in bed and asleep by the time he came, the Incubus would kill, and I would wake up. I rush to my bed, and pretend to be asleep. 3. It happens again, but this time he changes the rules. I have to set up a card game, and get back to bed in time. This time he gets me. 4. Assured that the nightmares would plague me, I decide to come to terms with it. I am stuck in a series of lucid false awakenings in which he gets me each time. Once, I see him at the bottom of the stairs. I run up the stairs as fast as I can, but my leg gets stuck on a bungie cord on the doorknob. I decide not to be afraid anymore. I manipulate patterns of light to throw him down the stairs. As he falls, I see his true form; my father. I use my telekinesis to bash his head against the car in the garage. I do not stop. I awaken, relieved and enlightened, free of what had haunted my sleep for a decade.
